River Run Music Therapy
Boonsboro, MD
We offer individual, dyad, and group music therapy sessions. Zoe is currently only accepting clients that live in Maryland and West Virginia.
Virtual and community based group music therapy sessions and family music classes are offered periodically.
Zoe offers virtual supervision for therapists interested in a space structured to provide safety for questioning, reflection, and growth. Zoe is an experienced clinical supervisor and has provided both group and individual supervision.
Zoe serves as adjunct faculty at Shenandoah University and has been a guest lecturer for both undergraduate and graduate level classes.
Music therapy is a form of therapy in which music is the basis of the therapeutic relationship. Music therapists work in many different settings, and in many different ways.
As a music therapist, I use music to connect with therapy participants and support them in reaching whatever goals are meaningful to them. This could be through active instrument play, song writing, conversations, and more.
Zoe's Approach
Zoe believes that a therapist's role is not to fix something broken. Instead, it's to build a relationship with participants so that desires for growth, rest, and/or play can be identified and supported. Zoe's work is informed by critical theories and social justice movements such as disability justice, queer theory, and critical race theory.
